Love this place, so peaceful and great views. I kinda wish they'd cut the grass in the sites more because of how many ticks there were. The grass in our site was almost knee height. Some campers are worse than others, be warned that some people feel as if the rules don't apply to them. I usually do my best to tune out or ignore the rude or loud ones. I wish the rules were a little more enforced for a better experience for everyone.
We love Hermit. My only complaint is that they DO NOT break up loud parties. So much for the peace and quiet. We can't stay away though! The beaches are great! Be prepared to protect yourself from mosquitoes!
My favorite place on Earth. My family has been camping here since the 60s. Its truly one of a kind. If you are looking for a place to camp surrounded by beaches and ocean, with plenty of wildlife and no RVs, this is the place to go. Reservations are accepted starting in January for the following summer.
Such a fun place to camp. Great beaches and tons of exploring. The price is high and the bathroom could use some cleaning / updating for all the money you spend, but the location is unbeatable.
Classic old School New England camping experience on a private island. Very family oriented. They don't permit radios, big Campers or loud parties. Its a time capsule of what camping and digging for clams was like in the 1950's. Bring your surf caster, a sleeping bag, and some bug spray.
